Performance Physical Therapy in West Ashley, Charleston, SC
When you first enter Strive Performance and Mobility for your physical therapy appointment, you might be surprised to see our space is identical to a gym. That’s the point. At Strive, we believe movement is medicine when it comes to your rehabilitation plan. Your treatment shouldn’t be limited to a table; it should prepare you for real life. Our facility in West Ashley, SC is packed with weights, barbells, turf, sleds, and other equipment to meet the demands of your goals - whether that’s everyday activities, work, or sport.

The Strive Approach to Physical Therapy
Strive Performance is based on three pillars: strength, stability, and stamina. We believe the human body is far more resilient than most people give it credit for - and it’s our mission to show you what you’re capable of. It is because of these beliefs that our facility is designed as a gym. Physical therapy should not be low-load exercises throughout the entire rehab process. While they can be a starting point, we believe progressive loading programs are key to building resilience and reducing pain. Our Doctors of Physical Therapy are highly experienced in weight training, running mechanics, program design, exercise modification, and comprehensive movement assessments. Your body is meant to move - so why should your rehab plan be limited to a table?

The Rehab Process
You’ll work one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy for a full hour to develop a fully individualized program. Each program is intentionally designed to get you moving and feeling better as soon as possible - while respecting your symptoms. Your first visit includes a comprehensive evaluation, including a thorough health/injury history and an in-depth movement assessment including mobility, strength, and overall movement patterns. From day one, you’ll receive a home exercise program specific to your needs through a physical therapist-designed app, allowing you to begin your rehabilitation immediately. Because Strive Performance and Mobility is not limited by the constraints of insurance, your physical therapy plan of care can be scheduled as frequently as necessary to get you back to a pain-free life.
We’re also proud to offer a seamless transition after physical therapy has been completed. We collaborate with highly experienced personal trainers and strength and conditioning coaches in our West Ashley location to continue progressing you towards your goals!

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What makes Physical Therapy at Strive Performance and Mobility different?
A: At Strive, you work one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy the whole time. Period. No being passed off to college students with no rehab education. No repetitive low-load table exercises. A full gym setting with the equipment to get you back to moving pain-free!
Q: Do you accept insurance?
A: We are a cash-based physical therapy clinic, which means we don’t bill insurance directly. We’re happy to provide a detailed receipt if you’d like to submit it to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
Q: What are the benefits of cash-based physical therapy?
A: Cash-based physical therapy allows us to provide longer one-on-one sessions, fully individualized care, and create a treatment plan based on what you need—not what insurance dictates. Many of our clients choose this model because it gives them more time with their Doctor of Physical Therapy and faster progress.
Q: How do I know if physical therapy is right for me?
A: Physical therapists are skilled health care professionals who are experts in injury screenings. If we determine your pain is something we can help guide you through, then we will discuss a plan that works best for you. If we identify signs that your pain may be beyond our scope of practice, we’ll promptly refer you to the appropriate health care provider!
Q: Where are physical therapy sessions held?
A: All sessions are held inside Strive Performance & Mobility, our private gym located at 2408 Ashley River Rd G in West Ashley, Charleston.
